Did You Know Smoke Detectors Expire?

When was the last time you checked all of the smoke detectors in your home for their expiration date? Did you know that all all detectors should be replaced every 10 years? If you can’t find a date on one of the exterior sides, check under the detector by twisting the detector off the ceiling. It is always important make sure you have the best smoke detector systems installed as you don’t want to risk your life or you home in case a fire breaks out. In addition to living and sleeping areas, you should always make sure you also have a smoke detector near your mechanical room. In case of an incident, you should always have a fire extinguisher under the kitchen sink, or in the pantry for fire spread prevention.
